The historic Fernie to Victoria Re-enactment Tour got underway on August 16th, re-enacting the club's 1958 Centennial Tour. This year's tour is open to vehicles aged 1942 and older. Local Car Collector Terry Johnson was on hand with one of his Diana's and I got to see him being interviewed as he was actually on the Original run 50 years ago as a very small child.

I went up to Fort Langley on one of the nicest days in the last part of August. The cars were parked in front of the Fort and I got to wander through and snap some pics of these amazing cars. They then headed off to Burnaby for the night. Check out the link to the VCCC Website for more info on this event and click on any image to go to my pictures of the event.

My photos of the event....

This from the VCCC Website

"In May of 1958 a small group of adventurous car buffs set out on a landmark trek across southern British Columbia. The occasion was B.C.'s Centennial - 100 years since the formation of the Crown Colony of British Columbia, under governor James Douglas. The provincial government sponsored the trip, with fuel provided by Imperial Oil.

The group departed Fernie on May 19 and arrived in Victoria on May 24, covering a distance of over 1000 kilometres. Along the way other cars joined in when possible and the group brought a sense of both history and celebration to many small communities as it travelled the province."

If you see your ride e-mail me to put your name on the photo.
